Same Sex Marriage
People interested in learning about Hillary Clintons views on same sex marriage will find she opposes it with some exceptions. In a 2007 interview she expressed her concern about how well the average American would accept this type of marriage. She felt strongly that most Americans would not find this type of sanction acceptable. However, she did go on to clarify her own personal standing on the issue of whether or not people of the same sex should be allowed to have a legal union.
Senator Clinton clearly expressed her viewpoint on how much she understands the rights of people are involved in this matter. The concerns same sex couples have is about their legal rights as couples. Often, financial and health care institutions will not recognize the rights of a same sex partner. Mrs. Clinton believed a fair solution to this matter would be to allow couples of the same gender to have a type of civil union partnership. This would allow them to have the same rights as married couples, without having the same type of religious sanction.
Hilary Clinton believed that most Americans would be accepting of this type of union as a fair settlement to this question. In regards to amending the constitution to specifically state marriage as the union between one man and one woman, she expressly opposed the idea. She felt it would be a backwards step for the American people to take. It would also be the first time in history the constitution would have been amended to specifically restrict the rights of American people. While the Senator states her opposition to the legal constitution of marriage between people with the same gender, she expresses her concern for the people who want and deserve to have these rights.

Dear Madam,
I’m writing this email to tell you that I am really scared and afraid all the time. This fear just doesn’t go away. I used to deny my sexuality for years but now when I have finally accepted it things are still not easy. I’m scared about loosing my family and friends, scared of being judged by society, scared about the fact that Islam does not allow it and also scared about being punished by the law in my country just because of who I am. I don’t know what to do or where to go or even who to talk to. I feel so lonely and afraid all the time. Please help me.
I will be waiting for your reply.
Best Regards,
Saqib
